Conversation with GNLU Team (Winner SGTU – INBA NMCC 2016)


SGTU – INBA National Moot Court Competition 2016

SGT University, Gurgaon and The Indian National Bar Association (INBA) have join hands to save the environment and jointly organized the “SGT University – INBA National Moot Court Competition, 2016” from March 04-06, 2016 at SGT University, Gurgaon.

The competition is perhaps one and only of its kind in the Country as going by its theme – “Complete Paperless Environmental Law Moot Court Competition”, the proceedings and marking during this competition will also be done paperless and the moot proposition for this competition is based on Environmental & Constitutional Law.
The principal objective of SGT University – INBA National Moot Court Competition 2016 on Environment Law is to develop an increased awareness and interest in Environment Law in academic institutions throughout Indian sub-continent. Another objective is to use Environment Law to further academic excellence in the student community, and to develop their advocacy skills in an environment of friendly competition.

This Competition was not only an initiative to save the environment but also a step for the achievement of United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, as this moot competition addresses the issue of climate change and talks about the urgent steps needed to tackle the adverse climate conditions, in this way the competition Support Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

Also we are going to organise this Moot Competition as a complete paperless one so we are saving a lot of trees and ultimately the forests, this attempt of ours supports Goal 15: Sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, halt biodiversity loss.

Since SGT University & INBA has entered into the partnership to Support SDGs through this competition they support Goal 17: Revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development as the successful sustainable development agenda requires partnerships between governments, the private sector and civil society.
